On the 3rd of February 2024, Dunnes Institute and IRAJ-Institute of Research and Journals Hosts Successful 3rd International Conference ICESTEM-2024 in Mumbai
Dunne’s Institute, in collaboration with esteemed partners Institute of Research and Journals, marked a significant milestone with the commencement of the third International Conference on Education at Taj President Cuff Parade, Mumbai. The theme, “From depths of Ocean to vastness of space as Scientists dare, Technology bares it all,” spurred thought-provoking discussions among attendees, including students from various schools and colleges in Mumbai.
The conference commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing enlightenment and progress in education.
Dr. Commander Arnab Das, Founder Director of the Maritime Research Centre in Pune, set the tone with his presentation on “Sustainable and Climate Resilient World Order,” emphasizing the importance of managing food security and environmental goals within the framework of the Blue Economy.
Following Dr. Das, Dr. Ravi Babu Tayede, Head of Chemistry at the Institute of Science, Mumbai, highlighted India’s recent achievements in space exploration through Chandrayaan and Aditya-L1 missions, positioning the country as an emerging power in science and technology.
Commander Sushil Chawla, Head of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Indian Naval Hospital Asvini, emphasized the significance of soft skills and effective communication in the field of science and medicine, reminding the audience of the human aspect amidst technological advancements.
During the coffee break, students engaged in insightful discussions with the speakers, enriching their learning experience. The conference resumed with Mrs. Charu Nautiyal narrating the remarkable journey of Homo Sapiens, from the old stone age to the present day, amidst challenges witnessed by stars, time, and history.
Prof. Vijaya Raghavan, an Associate Professor at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, delved into the joy of problem-solving and discovery.
Dr. Rajan Velukar, former Vice-Chancellor of Mumbai University, emphasized the importance of integrating science with humanities in the 21st century.
Dr. Rudrarup Gupta, Faculty Tagore School of Rural Development and Agriculture Management, The University of Kalyani Joined the Virtual Technical session and chaired the session for the research paper presentations.
The conference concluded with participants left inspired and enlightened, eager for future engagements. Tokens of appreciation were presented to the speakers by the Trustees of Dunne’s Institute and Mr. B. Barik, Director of IRAJ.
